To the left is the 10"x8" oil painting on canvas "Sandia Backdrop" I painted for my chiropractor and friend for her equine association ball and silent auction coming up next week. I fit in finishing it up between a busy week and a visit from out of state family. All that is needed now is to frame it and take it to her.
We enjoyed having family visit and the reminiscing as well as light and laughter!
To the right is the photo I was sent by "Let's Paint New Mexico" as
photo reference for my interpretation of it for Challenge 3. I had all kinds of ideas about what I wanted to paint, questioned myself if maybe a pencil drawing or pastel might work and be fun. Last night when I was restless and couldn't get to sleep I got up and painted quite a long time in my art
studio. The acrylic painting to the left is what I decided would be fun and different as far as my submissions so far. I'm calling it "Sunflower Serenade" it is acrylic on 8"x10" canvas.
I am truly enjoying the challenges in my creative life and all aspects of my family and life here in New Mexico.
This will be a busy weekend with commitments on Saturday, including the Hearts and Stars benefit event at Wilder Nightingale Fine Art in Taos, New Mexico where my oil painting will be auctioned off along with other beautiful artworks. I wish I could be there but prior commitments make that not possible though I will be there in spirit waiting to hear that they have reached their goal in benefiting the Taos Men's Homeless Shelter. If you're in the area Saturday evening check it out. Who knows, maybe you'll be that person that falls in love with my painting and has to have it.
